Each product page can show reviews from people who bought it. This guide explains who can leave a review, what a review shows, and what the country flag is.
Who can review
Only customers who have bought the product can review it, and each customer can review a product once. A visitor who is not logged in sees a prompt to log in. A customer who has already reviewed it, or who has not bought it, sees a short message saying so. The shop owner's superuser account can add a review without a purchase.
What a review shows
- A rating from 1 to 5 and a written comment.
- A Verified Purchase mark, added automatically when a customer who bought the product leaves the review.
- An optional country flag next to the review.
The country flag
When a customer writes a review there is an optional Country field. If they choose a country, its flag appears next to their review. Flags are available for Australia, Canada, Dominica, France, Italy, Jamaica, New Zealand, Saint Lucia, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. Leaving the field blank shows no flag.
Because the country is shown publicly, your privacy policy should mention it. Check your policy covers it.
Managing reviews
Reviews are listed in your admin, where you can read and edit them. Reviews also feed the star ratings that search engines can show for your product pages.
